Program highlight: An apartment complex designed to serve homeless and at-risk youth in the community.

West Creek Apartments in Chaska, Minnesota, is an apartment complex designed to serve homeless and at-risk youth in the community. This supportive housing initiative opened in August of 2024, and offers a safe and stable environment for young individuals who may be facing challenging circumstances. 

With a focus on providing resources and assistance, West Creek Apartments aims to help residents transition towards independence and a brighter future. The complex is thoughtfully designed to create a welcoming and empowering atmosphere, fostering a sense of community and belonging among its residents. The West Creek Apartments project is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of youth in need.

This 19-studio unit building serves youth and young adults (ages 18-29); 18 of the units are for clients (14 of which are designated for High Priority Homeless, Housing Support Eligible), and 1 unit is reserved for live-in/onsite staff. 

The SCD CAP Agency is the service provider, and Premier Management is the property management company. Weekly case management and 24/7 front desk support is provided by CAP Agency staff.

West Creek Apartments offers 18 units of permanent affordable housing for youth and young adults experiencing homelessness and is designed to provide support services. 

Partnerships have been formed with several local community organizations; a local food shelf provides a food pantry on site at the West Creek Apartments, and a local organization provides 18 bicycles for residents. 

Many youths were struggling with homelessness and a lack of connectedness, but the West Creek Apartments residence and staff have brought them the opportunity for safety, stability, and access to employment and community resources.
