Operations Manager Zheni Goodrich said they had been in their current location in downtown Wadena for eleven years. However, the plan years ago was to purchase a space that would help meet the ever growing needs of clients and staff.
With locations throughout central Minnesota, MAHUBE-OTWA provides a variety of services including family-focused services such as family health, Head Start, child care, and child care programs and referrals. MAHUBE-OTWA also provides services for seniors including the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, assistance with housing, energy needs and more.
“Our team is growing and services that we offer in the programs are also expanding so when the building came up for sale we saw that it met all of our needs,” said Goodrich.
The mission of the MAHUBE-OTWA Community Action Partnership is to empower people to reach self-sufficiency with a whole-family approach. They address needs for finding housing and staying warm, help the unemployed and under-employed to find meaningful work, provide assistance with health needs, wellness and family planning, and help seniors live independently. MAHUBE-OTWA also provides emergency services, relationship-based coaching, and offers programs that allow others to give back to the community.
An open house scheduled for the community to tour the new building and learn more about the services MAHUBE-OTWA provides along with cookies and light refreshments on Wednesday Nov. 8 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
