The 2024 National Community Action Partnership (NCAP) Conference, commemorating the agency's 60th year, was held in Seattle at the end of August. The landmark event brought together hundreds of Community Action Agencies and professionals from across the country, including dozens of representatives from MN agencies. The conference was a vibrant showcase of innovation, collaboration, and dedication to enhancing community services.
Minnesota’s own Community Action Agencies made a notable impact, with representatives from Lakes & Prairies Community Action Partnership (CAPLP), Prairie Five Community Action, MAHUBE-OTWA Community Action, and MinnCAP actively participating in panels and presentations.
These agencies shared their insights and strategies on addressing pressing community issues, providing invaluable perspectives on effective practices in the field.
The conference featured high-caliber content and expert panelists, tackling critical topics that promise to elevate the effectiveness of Community Action Agencies. From discussions on new approaches to client services to strategies for overcoming systemic challenges, the sessions offered practical solutions and inspiring ideas for the future.
National Recognition
In addition to the engaging presentations, Minnesota Community Action representatives were honored with Certified Community Action Professional Program (CCAP) certificates during the Awards Gala. The recognition underscores their commitment to excellence and their ongoing efforts to drive positive change in their communities.
At the conference, CAPLP was honored for achieving the Gold Tier in the Pathways to Excellence program, making it the only agency in Minnesota to earn this prestigious designation.
As the conference concluded, it was clear that the collective wisdom and shared experiences would fuel new initiatives and strategies, enhancing the ability of Community Action Agencies to serve their clients with even greater impact. The 60th Anniversary Conference not only celebrated the achievements of the past but also set the stage for a future filled with promise.
