Highlights from the 2024 Community Action Annual Training Conference

The 2024 Community Action Annual Training Conference, held from July 30 to August 1 at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center, brought together dedicated community leaders, advocates, and professionals from to share insights, experiences, and strategies for addressing pressing social issues. The event featured a range of impactful sessions, inspiring speakers, and a vibrant atmosphere of collaboration and learning.

Inspiring Keynote Address

Kicking off the conference, keynote speaker Sharmain Harris delivered a powerful message centered on his experiences as a justice-impacted individual. His talk emphasized the importance of second chances and highlighted innovative fatherhood initiatives aimed at supporting men in their roles as parents. Harris's compelling narrative resonated deeply with attendees, sparking important conversations about resilience, empowerment, and the transformative power of community support.

Learning and Growth Opportunities

This year’s event honored three exceptional individuals, along with recognizing Community Action Leaders Institute graduates and newly minted Certified Community Action Professionals.
