Eli Lilly Dropping the Price of Insulin

The Biden-Harris Administration announced Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at the Communities in Action: Building a Better Minnesota gathering that drug maker Eli Lilly is dropping the price of its insulin to $35.

The price reduction comes at a time when thousands of Americans are struggling with the cost of insulin to treat their diabetes.

MinnCAP Executive Director Bill Grant was on hand at the White House when the announcement was made. The event attendees were among the first to learn of the cost reduction.

For many years, nonprofit agencies and organizations have called for cutting the cost of the life-saving drug. The new price is in effect with or without insurance.
