Region 4 Ready Ride, WCMCA

The Region 4 South Ready Ride Partnership Program (R4 Ready Ride) provides rides through volunteer drivers for those who have a mental health or chemical dependency diagnosis in Douglas, Grant, Pope, Stevens and Traverse counties. The program was created through a partnership with the local mental health consortium, “Region 4 South Adult Mental Health Consortium”. The consortium provides funding to pay the volunteer’s mileage and WCMCA’s administration of the program and was created to help solve the problem of limited transportation options for those needing rides outside of the local transportation systems service hours or territory. R4 Ready Ride provides a safe, easy, and reliable way for those with mental health concerns to get where they need to go whether it be for medical appointments, grocery shopping, or socialization. In the first 6 months of the program, WCMCA’s volunteers provided 35 rides to those in need. Many of these rides were to mental health appointments out of area that the clients otherwise would not have been able to attend.
